Madekwe is from a multicultural family. Her birthplace was within South London. Both her parents were both English. She was raised on a council estate located south of London. When she was 14she enrolled in The Brit School. It was the Royal Academy of Dramatic Art is where she earned a BA degree in acting. She performed in various stages during her high school days, including the King Henry V and Wuthering Heights.
Madekwe began her acting career in the movie Storm Damage. Since then, she has appeared as a guest for Teachers, Doctors, Casualty, and Drop Dead Gorgeous. Her breakthrough role came in 2007's Woody Allen film Cassandra's Dream. It was opposite Colin Farrell (who played the character of Cassandra) as well as Ewan McGrath. After this success, Madekwe appeared as Elisha on the BBC Three drama pilot West 10 LDN and appeared for six seasons Trexx and Flipside. She was Bambi in The ITV2 show Secret Diary of a Call Girl. Madekwe appeared in the comedy How to Lose Friends and to annoy people (2008). Theatre credits for Madekwe include Little Sweet Thing and Flight Path.
Madekwe officially made her US debut on The Beautiful Life in 2009. The show aired just two episodes on The CW, and was then removed from the air. Ashley Davenport appeared in ABC drama Revenge in February of 2011. The show premiered in May 2013 and it was announced that Madekwe who had appeared on the show as a series regular for the two previous seasons, had decided to quit the show after a guest-appearance in the premiere episode of the season's new episode. From 2014 until 2016she appeared in Salem in the role of Tituba. Madekwe, her long-time companion, Iddo, married Madekwe in June of 2012. Alongside Secret Diary of a Call Girl they also appeared with each other on Salem and he had an appearance with her on the show on TV.

Ashley Leggat, a twice Gemini nominated actress, was born into a huge family from Hamilton, Ontario. She was raised by her parents Roy and Patty as well as her four brothers -Rob, Brett, and twins Todd and Bram. Ashley's siblings, who are all athletes, play in the summer months and play hockey in winters. Ashley could not walk but danced. This led to the fact that as she grew older when she was two, she began to learn about Baby Ballet. Ashley developed a passion for dancing after she started the Baby Ballet. Ashley performed in competitive ballet, jazz and tap in high divisions. Ashley took home the best soloist award at every major dance contest, which included International Dance Challenge, Showstoppers, 56-7-8 Showtime, Flash Dance, Dance, Dance, Dance and many more, just to mention a few.
