In the year 2017 Puerto Rican singer Luis Fonsi and Daddy Yankee released Despacito and it was the top-streamed track in just the space of six months. The single Despacito which was a mix of reggaeton with pop music has not just brought fresh interest to reggaeton but also brought more attention to Latin music. In 2015 there were two predominantly Spanish-speaking songs in Billboard's Top 100 and in 2016 there were four. At the height of Despacito's popularity 19, 19 songs mostly in Spanish made it to the Top 100. The year 2020 will see the number will increase to 41 tracks that fall into this category. Justin Bieber re-mixed Despacito with a Spanish version in 2017 and soon after the most well-known artists began collaborating with reggaeton artists. Drake teamed with Bad Bunny to produce MIA (2018), while Madonna worked on Medellin with Maluma (2019). Some reggaeton artists expressed their displeasure at the rise of mainstream music in the year 2020. However, a brand new band, Rauw Alejandro was determined to keep the evolution and development of reggaeton. The genre often incorporated electronic dance as well as different forms.
